Recorded live on Saturday August 18, 2018 in Elma hall, Zichron Ya’acov.
With The Spectrum Ensemble
Founded by Violist and Conductor Zvi Carmeli, the ensemble yearns to enrich and nourish the cultural life of northern Israel, by performing a wide range of musical styles, while promoting outstanding young Israeli musicians by integrating as members of the ensemble, and also giving them possibilities to perform as soloists.
Departing in its debut concert on the 18th of August at the Elma Center for the Arts concert hall, Zichron Yaakov, a central and significant cornerstone of the pioneers of the zionist vision, our Ensemble aims to concertize intensively in concert tours through out the north of Israel, ranging from Zichron up to Metula. Our vision and goal is to be able to bring performances of the highest standard to villages, churches, community centers, kibbutzim and more.
The Ensemble’s repertoire ranges from the baroque, classical, romantic until the most current and modern compostions of today. Along with the performance of classical masterpieces, the Ensemble aim to include performance of contemporary repertoire that is being created by local Jewish and Arabic composers.
The ensemble strives to put emphasis on involving young musicians just after their studies, with the aim of creating a musically and personally satisfying and nourishing environment, which will be a place where they can develop and grow here in Israel, as opposed to their relocating outside of Israel.
A graduate of the Curtis Institute of music, Violist and Conductor. Senior Lecturer at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, and is the Artistic Director of the Huberman Program – Jerusalem Music Center.
Zvi Peforms regurlarly in Israel and and abroad as a soloist, chamber musician and conductor.
Having lived abroad over 20 years (in the USA, Holland and Germany), Zvi has absorbed a great deal of cultural influence and experience as an artist, but has always felt that his only true home is Israel, where he loves to share his knowledge and nourish and inspire the new generation of Israeli musicians.
Since returing from Europe with his family nine years ago, Zvi has been very active in the North of Israel, in teaching at the Emek Izrael Center of the Arts where he is a regurlar faculty member. As well – he has been the artistic director of the JMC outreach porgram especially intended for northern Israel’s most outstanding young string players. In his many experiences and human interactions in the North, Zvi has developed a great fondness for the people of the North and wishes very much to bring to them this new exciting project.
